Donebauer’s
graduation film (as opposed to video) at the Royal College of Art
(1974) combined live action and animation from still images and
accompanied a soundtrack by Iannis Xenakis. This was the only time he
ever used pre-existing music.
It
metaphorically explores the external psychic tension between
visionaries and society and the internal psychic tension between
creative and metaphysical issues.
